Inter School Sports

9/03/2018
At Wynnum West, we strive to provide our students with a wide range of educational and sporting experiences and we are very proud of our Interschool Sports Program. We have enjoyed great success over the years and celebrate the inclusion of all children from Years 4 - 6 in our program, regardless of experience and playing ability.
We appreciate that club sports are time consuming and expensive and see our program as a way for all students to learn new sports and enjoy the benefits that accompany being a member of team.
Interschool Sport is a privilege and all student behaviour must be of a very high standard at all times. If a child’s behaviour is unacceptable at any time, then their place in this program will be reviewed which may result in being excluded from further activities during the season.
FRIDAY AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES
For children who do not wish to participate in the interschool sports programme, we have developed a Friday (during season) afternoon Craft Club. This is a creative and artistic program and offers a variety of activities. We also have Yoga again. Our usual sports still on offer are Rugby League, Soccer and Netball.
Costs for the Friday afternoon Program are $60 per student, regardless of the activity chosen.
• Interschool Sports programme costs are $60.  This covers the cost of transporting students to/from games, equipment used and additional costs associated with each sport. Students are expected to wear appropriate footwear and the school hat.
• Wynnum West and Wondall Heights State Schools co-hosts the netball competition. The fee goes towards the ongoing costs of court markings, maintenance and purchasing new equipment.
• The Craft Club costs are $60. This covers the cost of all equipment and enables students to take home their works of Art. The high quality of the equipment ensures items are of a high standard and valued by the students.
